Raiding Announcements 2.18.2013

G'day, Perpetualeans. Patch 5.2 should be released within the next couple of weeks and the new thirteen boss raid encounter Throne of Thunder has a prerequisite that must be met before anyone is allowed to enter––a raider must get a kill on the final boss in Heart of Fear, Grand Empress Shek'zeer. In order to prepare for this, we will start pushing Heart of Fear raids.  Starting this week, we will be doing the first boss in Heart of Fear before switching over to Mogu'shan Vaults.  Several weeks ago our guild successfully cleared Mogu'shan Vaults but we did not receive the guild achieve for the full clear because one of our raiders was on his higher geared character which is not in our guild.  I would like for us to continue Mogu'shan Vaults at least until we get the full clear guild achievement.  Posted below are some key announcements.

  • A Team is set, at least until we find out from Bumberbee if he's back for good. B Team needs: x1 tank, x2 tank heals and x1 raid heals (one of which could switch to a reliable deeps for two-heal encounters) and x2 ranged deeps.
  • B Team already has one officer but I would like to get at least one more officer on this raid team. Anyone interested in taking up an officer position in Perpetual should contact any of our officers.
  • Based on my observance of deeps meters, I have selected the one healer in A and B Teams that will switch to deeps for encounters that entail just two healers.  Mira from A Team will switch to deeps for these situations.  Your chance at acquiring gear for your main heals spec is not affected at all.  Please refer to the Perpetual Raid Loot Rules post on this blog or in the guild community website forums to see how loot rules affect you when you are called upon to switch out of your main role in a raid.
  • Because we are going to concentrate on Heart of Fear, do not simply hit ilvl 370 and feel that you are sufficient enough for raids.  Continue farming valor points through dailies, heroics, weekly Sha raids and LFR to build up a higher gear set.  Simply meeting the minimum ilvl requirement is not enough.  Also, I am noticing low deeps in the recount meters.  Make sure you are looking up your class rotations and glyphs/talents on noxxic.com as well as keeping your gear properly modified (askmrrobot.com is a great tool).
  • Continue signing up for your raid team's raid nights on the guild calendar.  I am noticing missing signups again, do not let this continue. Many of you have missed more than three raid nights for your team or have not been signing up at all.  I already removed one person and will be implementing a three strike rule effective immediately.  If you miss three raid nights without giving any of the officers a heads up then you are forfeiting your slot.
  • All boss guides for Heart of Fear have been posted to the guild blog. You are required to fully invest the time in understanding the intel for these encounters.

Posted below are the updated team rosters.  I have removed people from the teams due to consistent absences without giving a heads up in advance to any of the officers.  Also, you must consistently sign up for your raid nights at least three days in advance.

Mists of Pandaria is a new challenge for Perpetual.  I would like for us to strive for excellence.  I will start to ensure that everyone does their fair share and informs themselves well on the strategy.  We are in a guild that promotes a team-oriented raiding atmosphere and it is only fair that everyone is well-informed.  Having to explain boss intel before fights takes up too much time.  If I find that people are not able to set aside some time and inform themselves on boss strategies, then we will skip the bosses people are uninformed on.  Please do your best to not let the team down; if we are all aiming at heroic progression then we need to be open to a little more responsibility and effort.
